"You have to crawl into the wounds to discover what your fears are. Once the bleeding starts, the cleansing can begin."

RAPE a word that was shameful to even say or spell…. its getting so common everywhere in the sense from reality to the victim to newspaper to discussion and what not… so sad that it’s the women who are suffering from it and as I read about it, in my mind I try to think and wonder how and why?

I mean I feel like saying to the girl through her mind while she is being attacked – KICK ON HIS BALLS!

Yes, sorry but to get out of this one has to hurt the other person such that the person doesn’t turn back and run after her. The person should run away far from her.

Women need to be tough and be ready to fight back. I mean I know it’s easy to talk about it when I am sitting in front of a computer and writing about it.

But seriously, I have always tried to replay in my mind how it must have happened… and probably I do this because I feel for the person who went through this. When simply by accident someone’s hand slides down your body you give a look and the other person will immediately tell you – ‘sorry’ and probably the person will just walk away.

But think about a situation where its not just a touch…its much more than that and a situation where a women when protests, she gets abused in very horrific manner that she is literally fighting with life and death…and actually if we see those men who rape whether its inside the house or outside of the house – its about showing their power.

Men, who are suffering from inferior complex, think powerful psychologically if they do such an act.  I am basically coming based on some readings and some analysts who have come up with!

Many species have this kind of behavior such as mammals, birds, insects and fish and there also female has to pay the cost.

I don’t know about animals, but as far as humans are considered  - where we talk about civilization and planning our homes on the Moon etc., this is something that must be zero tolerant. When law doesn’t support then sometimes common people have to take the law in their hands.

If every women can have this in their mind registered that Men who are weak are the one who do this low level of act, probably the mental situation of women will be better and strong to kick back.

I think every women should learn how to attack and paralyze the men who attack or attempt for rape, in such a way that he should not get up from where he has fallen down.

I mean there are so many trainings and self-defense – I myself trained with Krav- Maga something in my country I cannot even think of getting it.  Because, this is something that cops and military personnel get trained with so that they can defend themselves from the person who is attacking them. Why should this be restricted to a specific category? It’s not about a country, now it’s a matter of every women and she is no longer a weaker commodity – like in olden days when people used to categorize women as “ABLA” (weaker section of gender – females mainly), in India – She is no longer weak. She is equally taking up all the challenges that men are taking already.  STOP this dual treatment and WE, as women have to compose and answer back. It’s not the time to get scared and surrender – FIGHT before they ACT.

I have so much aggression and anger for what happened last year around December time and now another incident in West Bengal that I want to do so much and yet feels so helpless.

Time has come when women have to be Kali (the Goddess of Time and Change) than being a Devi (Devi embodies the active energy and power of male deities) – especially to such dreadful creatures.

“You wanna fly, you got to give up the shit that weighs you down.”

Today was indeed a special day in my life. In the beginning when I was going for a birthday party event, my thoughts were that I will be meeting many new people from Bay Area.

When I reached at the event and heard the stories from these women who had gathered to wish the birthday girl, I was totally amazed and it took me to think.

Who says women is weak? Who? I rather witnessed today the power and courage that these women have and they are real. Women can move the mountains if they have the confidence and those who don't have the confidence its not about their weakness… in fact its the values and mythological aspects that they have been forced upon when they are born.

Girls should be like this… an ideological figure they have made in Ramayana and every girl who is born has to be like Sita (bear all the pains, sacrifice your life for your husband and after all still if husband treats you bad or doubts on your sincerity then he is right) :-) Yes, when the foundation is laid out like this, how can any women build a castle of hers with free of thoughts and courage?

"There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." ~ Anais Nin

I believe every woman if decides she can be worse than the Shiva's third eye (Shiva is often depicted with a third eye, with which he burned Desire to ashes - called "Tryambakam" in Sanskrit).

It's just that don't test her patience because she is patient, loving, caring which makes her first a human to care and respond accordingly. But some people take advantage of this and when the patience breaks even the people gets shattered to see that person in that same women.

I remember reading this poetry in grade 7th written by Indian poet: Maithili Sharan Gupt

"abla nari teri yehi kahani, aanchal mein hai dudh aur ankhon mein pani!!"

(Women is considered as the weaker sex even though, yet she is a mother and a sister too - here motherhood and sisterhood - more of love and sympathy that women carries in her eyes is what depicted).

I mean this was written somewhere in 1800s and when you look at it in this 25th century what has changed? I think a women's patience and sacrifice is taken as her weakness and hence people try to hurt her more.

I think every individual MUST have a purpose in life irrespective of what is her role (daughter, sister, girlfriend, wife, mother, mother-in law, grandmother). When individuals have their purpose in life then they know how to fulfill that purpose in life. They will make sure whats so ever problems come in their way it will be taken as a challenge and they will make it through their way.

The mistake that we do is - we don't speak about how we felt or feel about something that someone must have said or done to us. If you express about the hurt or disrespect behavior then the person should not repeat and if they do then we should stand up for ourselves and for our self-respect.

I am a true believer, that you come in this world alone and you leave this world alone too. Whom you meet and be around with as family and friends are part of your journey while you are here. So, for anything that goes wrong with me, I need to be responsible of it completely. I am the one who must know where it hurts and how to take care of it. No other individual can make decision for you because every individual is different in their own way.

Todays women is powerful and can bring that change in this world to make it a better place - a place where one can live with happiness and without any indifferences of religion, caste, color or creed.

I would like to end this post by sharing few lines from the poem Shakti aur Kshama (Strength and Mercy) written by an India poet: Ramdhari Singh Dinkar:

"Atyachar sahan karne ka, Kufal yahi hota hai
Paurush ka aatank manuj, Komal hokar khota hai"

(This is the consequence, Of tolerating atrocities, The awe of machismo is lost, When one's gentle and kindly)

Change can only come when WE make that decision… it will never happen automatically - Wake Up! Stand Up! You also have the right to live freely :-)

Moments are to be Happy ;)

Re-positing as one of my long time reader and friend reminded me of this one today… I had lost some data on my blog and hence its back here again :) Thanks for the reminder…!

I remember I got the Perfect Poet Award on this one by the Poetry blog team.

It was a rainy day
As clouds were crazy
Wild and ready to prey
Sun the naughty one
Playing his game on the way
Chilly wind making two hearts
Close by to be cozy on the day
Hot sip of coffee and the chillness
Had to merge like a ray
The gestures and the silence
Chirping noise of the birds
Exchanging lot of words
That one couldn't hear yet
Leave you on your way
With lot of lingering thoughts
As I drove my car
Haunting words and the sky
Taking deep into the dusk
As if it's going to rain
When I ask myself -
'Why think and be stressed?
Moments are to be happy
Enjoy the journey
As the sunsets
For a new dawn to come

The simplicity in Identity

Happy New Year wishes to all my friends.

New Year has come again and it's running into its teens now. Today I met a friend at work, it was our casual meet after last year. Since our lunch was done, we went for a walk and it was good to know a person whom I felt was a normal, down to earth and simple.

I meet many people in life, through many avenues and its rare that you think about that person when you are alone. It's not that I didn't think of other friends… all my friends are dear to me and I often think about them when they are not with me…but this one left with the deep thoughts as the person's simplicity amazed me.

Talking about many things, about life, health, music - it felt like talking to human. After a long time I felt connected to a person where I felt their pain is my pain. Their happiness is mine and so are the thoughts too.

As we discussed things about life, eating habits, I felt there is a similarity in thinking too.

Felt good to be connected with this person and I see that simplicity of this friend is what has made me a fan.

I feel more connected to life and human than machines and each time someone gives me that feeling - I wish to thank for that reason or purpose that brought this opportunity to be friends.

My new year post starts with happy and grounded notes.

Life is simple, its only we who let it remain simple or make it complicated.
