A Literary Retreat to Remember

The end of October turned out to be a true retreat — not just for the mind, but for the soul. I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a literature festival organized by the Literary Association of North America (LANA) in Dallas, Texas.

From the moment I arrived, I felt an instant sense of belonging. Strangers would walk up, introduce themselves, and ask where I was from — and within minutes, conversations flowed like we’d known each other for years. The warmth and hospitality made it feel like home away from home.

There’s something magical about being surrounded by people who share your passion for words. Among like-minded souls, there’s no need for masks or pretensions. You simply show up as you are — and you’re accepted, appreciated, and celebrated for it.

Over two days, I immersed myself in a world of writers, poets, and readers, each sharing their journeys, inspirations, and expectations from literature. The discussions were thought-provoking, touching upon not just the beauty of language but also the social and political currents that literature often stirs.

The festival featured several dynamic and eloquent speakers whose energy and authenticity made every session memorable.

I was deeply honored to be invited to recite my poem and speak about Hindi and Marathi literature — a topic close to my heart. The audience’s encouragement and appreciation reignited my creative spark and reminded me why I write.

The festival itself was beautifully organized. Behind the scenes, the volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure every participant felt welcomed and valued. Their dedication was visible in every detail — from smooth logistics to the personal touches that made each attendee feel special. Of course, events like this need sponsors, but it was the heart and hard work of the volunteers that truly made it shine.

Beyond the literary sessions, there were moments of joy — dance, music, and drama that brought people together in laughter and celebration. And oh, the food! Each meal was thoughtfully prepared and delicious — even now, as I think back, I can still taste those comforting flavors and relive those satisfying moments.

It wasn’t just a festival; it was an experience — one that nourished creativity, connection, and community. I came back from Dallas feeling inspired, grateful, and ready to write more.

Experiences like these remind me that literature is not just about words — it’s about connection, empathy, and shared humanity. Whether through poetry, prose, or conversation, storytelling continues to bridge cultures and generations. I came back feeling inspired, grateful, and reminded of the simple truth that creativity thrives best in community.

A Monday to remember 🥰

It’s Monday, and I’m on summer shutdown at work this week — a rare day with nothing on my calendar. “Since you’re free, why don’t you come to my office?” Rhea suggested. And just like that, I had my plans for today.

As I walked into her workplace, memories flooded back — the times I’d take all three of my little ones, Rahi, Rhea, and our beloved cocker spaniel Reyna, to the VMware campus for visits. How the roles have shifted.

Today, it was my daughter showing me around — giving me a tour of the Nvidia campus, the cafeteria, and sharing lunch together. A quiet moment of pride.

Before I left, I added my signature doodle on the whiteboard by her desk — a little tradition that continues.

Mondays like this? I’ll take them any day 🥰.

The heartbreaking fire...!

The day started way early for me,
It was an access issue for users,
Thought it can wait till I reach work,
But seemed it was a blocker for all,
Got up to mitigate the issue,
And in no time got it resolved,
Day seemed much accomplishing...
Until, the news of fire emerged,
Multiple thoughts, how? who? why?
Whether it's a heritage, monument, history
Makes it a mourning moment for all,
A day that started on a positive note,
Ended with deep thoughts and sadness!

A Beautiful Day!

Beautiful day and beautiful plan,
Meeting and eating was so fun,
Exploring the place, food and people,
Yet walking carelessly along the stores,
Looking and admiring calling history,
So much to cherish and relate with,
The day carried on from place to home,
Sharing stories being with nature as one,
Until the clouds came together telling,
Dusk is here so Dawn can come again ðŸ˜‰
After #got we said adios to the day!

A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's book

Today, I feel like this picture and just look at it…wont you also feel like sleeping so cozy :D

After the rain has stopped and the bright sunshine right there to shine to dry up all the water and give you the warmth by taking us in its arms with a silent lullaby played somewhere far and as you dose off, the cunning dreams comes to you to take you far away from this world yet keeps you attached to your world with pleasant dreams, when you get a knock at the door and you say ~ Gosh! Its noon already hahaha

“The repose of sleep refreshes only the body. It rarely sets the soul at rest. The repose of the night does not belong to us. It is not the possession of our being. Sleep opens within us an inn for phantoms. In the morning we must sweep out the shadows.” ~Gaston Bachelard

Yup anything that is too much is not good and I guess my sleep and dreaming amusement has taken to that level where I don’t feel like reading my book! Can you imagine? I am a person once taken a book in hand I don’t keep it down until I have completed reading it till the last page and then I sit back and give a thought about the author and his expression in his story :D

Reading is a means of thinking with another person's mind; it forces you to stretch your own.”

I don’t even feel like watching TV oh! Tell me how much I hate watching these shows where they make fun of others or fool others with a hidden camera and then place it as there talk-show and make it funny!

“If you read a lot of books you are considered well read. But if you watch a lot of TV, you're not considered well viewed.”

Songs – wow!!!!! How can I miss that :D….I love to listen to music and am dying to listen but am controlling as I know I will dose off again …oops!!!

“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.”

So what…after lot of thinking and consideration, I came to the conclusion of cleaning :D….something that I love and don’t hesitate to donate my life for it :D

“Better keep yourself clean and bright. You are the window through which you must see the world.” ~ George Bernard Shaw

I was cleaning with fear as my friend will get mad at me for doing it, for my friend wants me to just chill and relax like the picture … lol!

“A relationship is like a rose, How long it lasts, no one knows. Love can erase an awful past, love can be yours, you'll see at last. To feel that love, it makes you sigh, To have it leave, you'd rather die. You hope you've found that special rose, 'cause you love and care for the one you chose.” ~ Rob Cella

A day spent in a school with my Dad

No matter how old we grow, a part of us always longs to return to our childhood—to the school where we learned, the home where we grew up,...
