Happy Birthday !

My dear Rhea, my quiet joy,
You’ve brightened life since you were a little girl.

Your smile still feels like home to me,
In your dreams live all I hope to see.

I remember your tiny hand in mine,
And now you’re growing, finding your own shine.

With every year, may you grow and be,
Happy, kind, and truly free.

Happy Birthday, my love,
Keep smiling, always.

Mom ❤️

Happy Birthday Rhea... !

Never had a moment where I felt lonely,
Nor I missed not having a sister,
As my daughter been there always with me,
Like two sides of a road we walked together,
Like friends, been in all ups and downs of life,
But always giggling, laughing and playfully being,
This is life for us and how time went by no clue,
Every year this day, I think of the day she was born,
Every year it feels like new and rejuvenating,
Didn't realize how time went by so fast,
Wonder ever, where do all these happiness reside?
It blooms in our daughters all around,
I know birthdays will be celebrated every year,
But I will remember the first one dearly in my heart,
For that day you made me realize the importance of a Mom!
Many Happy Returns of the Day Rhea !

Your Mom!

Happy Birthday!

An extension became
A friend for life,
No age no bar,
Though biologically,
Mother and daughter,
Yet can share anything,
Under the sky and be fine,
Always made me proud,
And gave me free advise,
She always amazed me as
I was so different than her,
Some decisions I couldn't make,
But she does it very confidently,
As you reach the milestone of 20,
All I want to say is, the world is yours,
Go dream high and achieve them,
Not for anyone else but for you
Happy birthday my dear ðŸŽ‚
You make life so simple ðŸ’•
With love your friend, Mom ðŸ˜˜

Happy 19th Birthday Rhea

This day when I think of, it makes me feel so proud of you because I never had so much strength as I had at that time.
I am not talking about any labor pains or delivery push and struggles because I never had one.
The circumstances and the situations that brought me to deliver you and that too when all the doctors in Canada said this is going to be a normal delivery and that too on April 17. That date was the only truth I believe but rest was all new and sudden. I remember how my mom feared my death in this whole caesarean operation for delivering you.
I always feel it was you who made me a courageous woman that you were born, and I found a friend in you.

"A mother is a daughter's best friend"

My idea of having a daughter was more or less because I know how to raise a daughter I think, and more over my lessons were from my mom in which I was going to do some addition or deletion in the manner she raised me and that’s all I did. My mom made sure that I always understood what it means to be living with financial independence and how to take care of yourself. There were things that my mom never discussed openly with me and I don’t blame her because it was her upbringing and the culture in which she got raised made her do so.

"There is nothing as powerful as mother's love and, nothing as healing  as a child's soul"

But I adapted those things which she didn’t do and tried to imply with you, so you have awareness. I believe things can be different if we are aware of it and so we can at least have options otherwise we are like lost souls and hesitant to ask anyone.

I feel proud looking at you because when I was 19, I was doing what I want to do, and I was very adamant about it. This confidence always was supported by my parents and hence I never felt anything about my growing up. I wish the education system that I was growing in was like how we have in America because I would have chosen what I am enjoying today in my career, that’s the only regret that I couldn’t dive into technology. When I look at you feel so good that you moved around with your thoughts and when the time came you made that change for yourself and look you are part of the STEM movement 😊, I am very proud mom for that reason as well.

"Never forget that I love you. Life is filled with hard times and good times. Learn from everything you can. Be the woman I know you can be."

Besides all these academics and career paths, your dedication, hardworking always makes me feel that I don’t have to worry about you in life now. You know your stuff and if things happen you know how to get out of it because we learn from our mistakes and grow much wiser.

As always, I tell you, love people, be respectful and treat everyone equally. There will be times when some may not deserve that but think about it that they might have different reason for their situation. Be careful and always take care of yourself and do not forget you have a loving brother who always misses your love which you often hide from him by not expressing.

Happy 19 Rhea, life is good, and you will meet lot of good people in life. Be strong and stand for yourself because if you will not then who will? Never think you’re alone in this, always look at it as an opportunity to make that first impression and nail it.

With love your mom

Happy 8teen !!!

Today Rhea is 18 years old, for some reason I never noticed how fast time is running. And why should we?

This day, I want to remember my 18th birthday. I was in college and my celebration was with my college mates. I took my friends for a lunch and a movie. Those days birthday person has to treat others, my brother used to get upset on such celebration because he used to feel that my friends should treat me and not I throw a party for all. In all this I used to invite my brother too ;).
18 is a big number or I became an adult - no idea! But one thing I knew and was sure of is that I can vote and that was a proud feel for me.

" Now that you're 18, you're responsible for covering for your own mistakes. Unfortunately, those don't stop at any age"

Today everyone says Rhea is 18- she is an adult and is independent. She can go out and live of her own and no one can say anything. I feel at 18 what do we know? Nothing! We only have seen life through the window that our parents kept it open for us. In my case, Rhea has seen more than what I had seen in my life, probably that's my learning what to do and what not to do while I raise my kids :).

I believe in life,  awareness of reality is important. Life is not complicated yet we can make it one and at times life is not that simple also as we might think. I remember my dad used to tell me "if you study well then it's good for you probably you will fetch something that will make you financially independent and if you don't study still it's for you because parents are not going to be there with you all the time." Scary isn't it? Yes, at the age of 10 when my dad said that it was scary for me because I never want to lose my parents, never!

But then I am not thinking that I cannot be a burden on them even though they are my parents. So, study well and be financially independent because when you are financially independent you can think properly and make wise decisions for yourself. Many times we are stuck in life because we are dependent on others and then we are under lot of obligations. Sometimes in such situations we live someone else's life.
One advise to my kiddo is that study well, do what you want to be and follow your heart. I am sure as long as you're not hurting anyone, not disrespecting and not letting any ego get inside you - you will be a happy soul. Live life, help others but make sure in helping you don't get hurt yourself.
Life is like a two sides of a coin. You will have both good and bad, happiness and sadness walking side by side - it's up to you how to balance both. People are good, yet sometimes people also go through different situations and in that they may hurt you, they may become mean to you but don't let all that make you weak. Gain your strength from those people and rise and shine, always!
Be strong and try to defeat all your fears only then you will rise with shine :)

Remember, I am always there until I am around here ... A Very Happy Birthday to a Big Girl

"You're an adult now, but don't let it go to your head. Seriously, the younger you think the younger you'll stay" ;)

Happy 17th Birthday Rhea ...

A journey even before I could know its you was started in July 1998 and since then I always felt I have a friend inside me who listens to me as I want. The moments of morning sickness when you made me more sleepy and yet for my cravings when I am not able to get to eat, you always listened to me when I said to settle with a glass of milk. Those days were the tough ones when I was experiencing motherhood and no one was there to guide.
My frequent talks with you while you were still in my womb made that connection, whether you listened or not but you always obeyed me to what I requested.
I was eagerly waiting for you with the hope to name you Rhea and it happened.
I was hesitant to tell people that I want my kid to be a baby girl because I felt it could be discrimination against boys. Having you in life I really didn't need anyone beside. I grew up with you as we traveled from Canada to India and then to USA. Many times I let you handle the situation whether it was at school or among friends with the thought to make you strong. Today when you share your stories of 3rd grade and onwards I feel proud how you managed those days because you never troubled me with those. That time also came when I heard you started counseling kids and helping friends by giving them moral support and by merely listening to their issues.
A great human being is what you have become and I feel proud the way you are growing up as a beautiful and strong girl ready to take off with the first wings that you can get after your education.
I want you to fly high to achieve your aspirations and dreams yet I want you to be grounded and affectionate to everyone. Rich and poor is mere a feeling made out of people's thought. If you look at mother nature there is no one richer than her and yes thats how you want to be in life. Have a lot but share a lot too. As you climb help others to climb too. Being human doesn't makes you less in anything. Travel more and touch the hearts of the people. There will be opportunities to make mistakes and yes make the mistakes but learn something out of it.
As you needed a friend be a friend to one who needs one and help out. Be yourself and worry nothing at all, for life is a roller coster ride for everyone then why not enjoy the ride until it ends ;)

A very happy birthday on your 17th birthday, don't hesitate to be YOU.

With love always
Mom

Happy sixteen, till now I don't know what it mean...!!!

This was the day when
The stream of strength
Followed with me to walk
When I was thinking "am alone"!
A journey which I chose
A journey she walked without knowing
The trust brought us together
To fall and rise like a true dawn!
Feeling of togetherness
A time well spent on relation
Which made us best friends
Only to grow together once again!
I know the time will come
To say goodbye in life
But am sure she will carry the relay
Being a living extension of mine!
A girl who is always there for me
A girl who comes and shares everything
Crazy, silly, witty and funny
Sometimes like my mommy
I enjoy even today the childhood
As you treat me like a baby
Happy sixteen, till now I don't know what it mean
As numbers never meant anything to me
Live the moment and explore life
As by now you know it all
Good or bad it all makes sense
When only you think it is right ;)
