Looking back to this date...!

I was lost in thoughts,
As it took me by flight,
The memories of yesteryear,
When I was still a newbie,
In a new country that I chose,
Was a newbie at the job too,
Meeting different people,
Few motivating and still,
Many discouraging each day,
It took me to think about,
A plan with some way out,
Some with temptation,
Asking to change religion,
Translating their poems,
Without any payments,
Calling it a godly work,
I lost the faith itself,
The inside me was stubborn,
Didn't want to listen,
The more they said go back,
I strongly said I stay back,
With a job that paid minimum,
Only covering few hours,
Yet the heart was determined,
With full of passion,
Being only 21 days in the country,
The courage to see the unknown,
Was like a craving fervor,
Looking back to this date,
Brings waves of emotions,
With sweet memories and lost ones!

Why can't there be no borders and welcome all?

The struggle to survive,
Humans to live a decent life,
Let it be natural calamity,
Or even man made atrocities,
Humans are like cockroaches,
Climbing the walls to escape,
Get to the other side of the wall,
In the hope of a better life,
Humans fighting with humans,
To survive, peacefully with family,
Aren't we all taking refuge here,
Because no one in reality owns,
When we don't own anything here,
Then how can we build walls to stop?
Who are we to stop others from living?
We are all refugees, stop thinking great about self,
For some a better chance and others don't,
Every life matters and everyone has same rights,
Then why we let our own race struggle?
Why there's a difference between people?
Why can't there be no borders and welcome all?

Nature the true artist...!

There is no specific time,
To draw, write, act or even dance,
Whenever you feel just do it,
Today clouds decided to play a game,
The game to trick and confuse,
And nature is also optimistic,
It shuffles some of them here and there,
And makes it's way to create,
An art filled with imagination for us,
To figure what we see when nature paints,
The true artist who let's our imagination,
To go crazy passionately to fulfill our dreams,
It's good to look up and get motivated,
Cheers to art, dance, prose and poetry!
Happy poetry month to all!!

Let go of wanting things...!

Denis Diderot lived in poverty all along,
He got a fortune at the age of fifty two,
He went crazy bought a scarlet robe,
It was so beautiful looked out of place,
No more coordination  no beauty,
Between his robe and rest of the items,
He bought some new things to match,
Changed his rug, bought beautiful sculptures,
And a better kitchen table too,
Bought a new mirror to place above the mantle,
New leather chair and what not,
The whole thing became Diderot effect!
We end up buying things that,
Our previous selves never needed one,
To be happy or fulfilled one,
We all do this in our lives,
Life has a natural tendency,
To become filled with more,
Do we ever look to downgrade?
To simplify? To eliminate? To reduce?
Human natural inclination is always
To accumulate, to add, to upgrade, to build upon,
Avoid the habit triggers at first place,
Buy items that fit your current system,
Set self-imposed limits,
Buy one and give one,
Let go of wanting things,
Fill life with optimal amount of things,
Let Diderot's example teach all of us!

What real friendship is?

What real friendship is?
And why it matters?
There are types of friendship,
Accidental where it is
In exchanging benefits,
Some are for pleasures,
And then they part,
Its okay to be friends
But there's no depth,
There is one where
Its mutual appreciation,
Those who lack empathy,
And care, often end up there,
Friendship of virtue
Take time and trust to build,
This has all the elements
Of a good friendship,
Anyway life is too short
For wrong kind of friendship
That was the story
I read from Aristotle
The timeless advice

I dedicate this poppy flower to her...

Yesterday was a remembrance day,
A dear friend after battle with cancer,
Finally defeated cancer and left the body,
It was her way to win over six years ago,
The memories of her still linger around,
Her laugh, jokes and playfulness on face,
She always kept me on toes with her questions,
Some difficult ones and some with no answers,
Yet she always gave credit for positive vibes,
The loved ones have her in the heart,
The month brings those tough memories,
And then the brave person who she was,
I dedicate this poppy flower to her,
For this symbolizes sleep, peace and death,
Yet this is to her peacefulness,🙏.

A journey with Bryon Fitzpatrick...!

How amazing sometimes things leads to,
Was reading about life lessons,
From a prolific industrial designer,
Who said, people see things but
They don't really observe,
Everything is a lesson in light,
Form and proportion if you have the wit,
From designing cars to radio with push buttons,
Cameras to feature a pistol grip,
A square beer bottle to BSA Rocket 3,
The world's first superbike,
Who's design was controversial,
And it happens to be 50th anniversary,
All this and Triumph Trident became cult classics,
What you are will show in what you do,
Nothing is ever perfect, and therefore
Nothing is really ever finished,
Which means there's always more to do 😉
That was one journey with Bryon Fitzpatrick

It's the beginning of a week...!

It's the beginning of a week,
Like beginning of a street,
You walk around and pick,
A place to just go by and sit,
Wandering or gazing a bit,
A little illusion of twilight,
And you dream of some sight,
That takes you to a vacation site,
It's time to enjoy that right?
When you see the end of light,
That's the end of this street,
You want to go home straight,
It's time as it's the end of week,
Wait, snooze that alarm albeit,
It's weekend you need to go for hike,
Boy, he comes here day and night,
I love you to the Moon and back 😍😘❤️

The blue ocean like sky...!

The blue ocean like sky,
Sitting on the green fence,
It got so heavy on them,
The piece of fence rolled down,
The green lawn couldn't handle it,
And it rolled on to the roof,
Children in the classroom,
Heard the rolling sound,
They ran outside to see the fun,
It was nothing but the fence,
Kids got a reason to be out,
Teachers couldn't control them,
It came out to be a day-out,
And kids had fun outside,
Rather be in the classroom,
Such could have been a day,
In the school when you have
Such beautiful mountains!

Mother earth doesn't ask more...!

Little water as nourishment,
Vitamin in the form of sunlight,
If weather permits and is kind,
They get energy or frost bite,
Either way they never complain,
If one weekend you get busy,
They may show a gloomy face,
The moment they are fed it's a delight,
Lively and happy with new ones too,
Mother earth doesn't ask more,
A little bit of everything with love,
When we bring nature inside home,
It shows the affection and love,
Let's not forget to water them,
When we drink some too ;)

After a long time gazing at him..!

After a long time gazing at him
In the cold and windy night,
Brought the childhood memories,
Along with many youthful nights,
Those surprising moments behind the clouds,
With full, blue moon and red blood moments,
Eclipses and many events,
He kept engagements one way or the other,
Such beautiful memories he has given
That tonight watching him through the telescope,
Gave me hope and scope,
To cherish my dream to see him again ❤️😍😘

Peace and harmony

Many would get offended
Many would laugh too
Some may argue with purpose
Some may just wonder he is dumb
Few would say it's a mockery
Few would call him crazy
Wearing the uniform proudly
Holding the gun lightly
Yet carrying peaceful mind
With a smile on his face
And flowers in his hands
A message to everyone
Humanity that loves
Peace and harmony
You only need roses
To spread the fragrance
Of love and happiness

Thought went through my mind !

Whenever I looked up to these,
It drew my mind to those horizons,
Many times, I envied birds for their freedom,
But then I felt our minds too have those,
I was reading a story of an activist,
Thought went through my mind,
Humans made internet which has no boundaries,
No Visa, no papers needed to reach millions,
Yet, if you look we are trapped in a box,
Looking through the windows, screens, devices,
We always seek for that freedom of the ultimate,
To fly, to reach, to touch and feel the oneness!

Why can’t we go back in past and make it present?

Yesterday was just another day,
Waiting all the time for today,
But then, it reminded me of past,
Which is gone, the future not yet here,
The present which is now,
Why does it have to be like this?
Why there’s always a past, present and future?
Why can’t we go back in past and make it present?
There should be some science behind that,
Why I wondered, and someone said,
It’s the second law of Thermodynamics,
Self-contained can only increase or stay same,
It can never go down,
So, physics says time has preferred direction,
I realize it’s all because of second law of Thermodynamics…!

Happy 19th Birthday Rhea

This day when I think of, it makes me feel so proud of you because I never had so much strength as I had at that time.
I am not talking about any labor pains or delivery push and struggles because I never had one.
The circumstances and the situations that brought me to deliver you and that too when all the doctors in Canada said this is going to be a normal delivery and that too on April 17. That date was the only truth I believe but rest was all new and sudden. I remember how my mom feared my death in this whole caesarean operation for delivering you.
I always feel it was you who made me a courageous woman that you were born, and I found a friend in you.

"A mother is a daughter's best friend"

My idea of having a daughter was more or less because I know how to raise a daughter I think, and more over my lessons were from my mom in which I was going to do some addition or deletion in the manner she raised me and that’s all I did. My mom made sure that I always understood what it means to be living with financial independence and how to take care of yourself. There were things that my mom never discussed openly with me and I don’t blame her because it was her upbringing and the culture in which she got raised made her do so.

"There is nothing as powerful as mother's love and, nothing as healing  as a child's soul"

But I adapted those things which she didn’t do and tried to imply with you, so you have awareness. I believe things can be different if we are aware of it and so we can at least have options otherwise we are like lost souls and hesitant to ask anyone.

I feel proud looking at you because when I was 19, I was doing what I want to do, and I was very adamant about it. This confidence always was supported by my parents and hence I never felt anything about my growing up. I wish the education system that I was growing in was like how we have in America because I would have chosen what I am enjoying today in my career, that’s the only regret that I couldn’t dive into technology. When I look at you feel so good that you moved around with your thoughts and when the time came you made that change for yourself and look you are part of the STEM movement 😊, I am very proud mom for that reason as well.

"Never forget that I love you. Life is filled with hard times and good times. Learn from everything you can. Be the woman I know you can be."

Besides all these academics and career paths, your dedication, hardworking always makes me feel that I don’t have to worry about you in life now. You know your stuff and if things happen you know how to get out of it because we learn from our mistakes and grow much wiser.

As always, I tell you, love people, be respectful and treat everyone equally. There will be times when some may not deserve that but think about it that they might have different reason for their situation. Be careful and always take care of yourself and do not forget you have a loving brother who always misses your love which you often hide from him by not expressing.

Happy 19 Rhea, life is good, and you will meet lot of good people in life. Be strong and stand for yourself because if you will not then who will? Never think you’re alone in this, always look at it as an opportunity to make that first impression and nail it.

With love your mom

Let’s hold on to each other!

It’s windy and moody,
It’s stormy and gloomy,
Some said hail is falling,
And some, earth is shaking,
In all this stumble and ambiguity,
Let’s hold on to each other,
Make our base stronger,
When it topples in the interim,
We stand by force together,
Like a thunderstorm in this weather,
If things go the other way,
We all go together,
So, lets hold on to each other,
And make our base stronger!

It's a story of one of those evenings...!

The beautiful picture is in making,
A tinch of orange is still shining,
The grey color of ash is messing,
Still the plain canvas is conveying,
A story and the story that's evolving,
Grey and orange with a black mixing,
It's a story of one of those evenings,
Where love and hate uncovering,
The mystery of being together!

Nature's way of telling...!

A beautiful flower
That brings the joy,
It decks up the tree
like an ornament,
All ready to celebrate
the season spring,
With the freshness
In the air to embrace,
Makes everyone
happy and gay,
Nature's way of telling,
Life can be green and grey,
What gets highlighted
Is happiness and joy,
The dry and flaky leaves,
Are the joys from the past,
Only to support the present,
The color vibrant and lively,
Welcoming everyone to spring!

The evening was a planned one 😉

The evening was a planned one,
I was waiting eagerly for this one,
The excitement was mutual and even,
We had so many things to share n be one,
Yet the feel, there was a reason for everything,
I cherished my past, present and planned,
The future where we travel, the dream that I saw,
Years after I try again to fulfill, there's a reason,
Life is to live and not to waste as we have timeline,
Need to meet that or is delayed and strolled,
Cherish the moment and strike off the goals,
For time is precious meet people here or at the other end 😉

A dusky evening...!

I took a paint brush,
Looked for a canvas,
Didn't find one anywhere,
So looked up to the sky,
Yes, it should be a blue sky,
But let me add some color,
A little bit of pink and orange,
Yes, but I ran out of green so?
Let's paint it black I thought,
Then should the trees be black?
Why not, all that is green be black?
A dusky evening story wound up like that! 😉

Happy wishes on this note!

Busy day,
Full of meetings,
Planning and discussions,
Lots of ideas and implementations,
We all think of that ideal world,
Where we have a process in place,
And People to face,
To deliver the product,
Which we interfaced,
Yet planning on backlogs,
With sprints after sprints,
And the day ends with a cake,
It's someone's birthday!
Happy wishes on this note!

Fact is I took the flight alone...21 years back!

Thinking about 21 years back,
If not taken Royal Jordanian flight,
I would be still in my city Pune,
Working for a fabulous company,
Thrashing lame system of government,
For all the corruption incidents,
After all the struggle and challenges,
The dusk will down with success,
Each day would inspire to live,
Would have been still married,
But no kids for sure then,
Fact is I took the flight alone,
I feel 21 which makes me young,
Still high on adventurous rides,
Enjoying the thrills of living life,
On the edge is what I loved,
Suspense-thriller roller coaster ride,
Don't we all want that in life?
On this day 21 years ago,
I was sitting at the airport,
Thinking what to do next,
Simple pleasures of my life,
Each day there's a new Dawn!

These scattered clouds!

Thoughts today are like,
These scattered clouds,
Whether to be or not,
Comprehensive or open,
Backups or no backups,
Scale sets or auto scales,
Simplify or complicate,
Snowball or glaciers,
Import or export,
Cloud watch or cloud trail,
Deep learning or machine learning,
Media tailor or media store,
Cloud search or elastic search,
And it goes on and on,
Without making its mind,
But I am on top of the cloud,
May be Cloud9 or in the pipeline,
Thoughts today are like,
These scattered clouds!

"People with no ambition never get out of the hole."

Isn't it says, change is good? Yes, it is and I am experiencing it too.
These days my commute to work is so less that I reach home in 20 minutes and first day I didn't know what to do after coming home so early. Yes, it happens when you are used to be stuck in traffic for around 6 years.
This was a change for me and believe me the way I am managing my time is by cooking Maharashtrian food and if not then by reading. Because of my commute I hesitate to read anything because if I take a book to read it will never finish because the continuity is lost but now that's not the case.

"Time is the school in which we learn, time is the fire in which we burn" ~ Delmore Schwartz

Recently, I have been reading a lot about women from history around the world and it's a powerful one because it is inspiring. I always wondered in olden times there were more tough challenges for women and still some were tough cookies who did stand up for themselves and for others.

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela recently expired after illness and I read this in the news. I always felt she was a strong woman and did lot more than what Nelson Mandela did moreover I have heard many adored her and still many abhorred her and hence this curiosity to know what is unknown made me to dig internet and read about her. A life is that book which gives a story about her personal and public life. How she survived her husband's imprisonment, harassment from the police and the apartheid government, betrayal from friends, solitary confinement and so much more. I strongly feel she was a strong selfless woman who was defiant, charismatic and enigmatic woman and she never got the recognition that she should have got. In this even I feel Nelson Mandela side-tracked her which I find it more painful because while he was in jail Winnie Madikizela kept the struggle flame alight which was not easy for a woman specially with two small kids.
I feel after a certain point even men become selfish when it comes to name and fame and being competitive with their own family member is something I felt hurt for Winnie.

"I am the product of the masses of my country and the product of my enemy" ~ Winnie Madikizela Mandela

As I was in these thoughts, I did read about Nelson Mandela as well because he was married three times and each wife says about him is that he was no saint! That also tells a lot about him as a person and I don't think I have much admiration for him. I have more respect and admiration for Barack Obama instead.

But guess what, today is Maria Felix's death anniversary, another strong woman from history and a much powerful one too. I think women should learn from Maria Felix's life. She loved herself and lived life and that is her message for other women around the world.

"I have got just one message for the women of my country and of the world: I wish they loved themselves like I loved myself" ~ Maria Felix

A very brilliant, sober, proud, beautiful and talented woman - an actress and a singer that was Maria Felix. If you get to read about her please do so, I had to get things translated in English as there's tons of material on her in Spanish even poetries have been written on her that's how beautiful she was. Her talent and beauty were never as outstanding as her strength, poise and approach to life. I think that's what caught me and got me interested in reading about her. Internet is good source to get more information on her life, poetry and films which got thankfully translated in English.

She became a Mexican film icon throughout the '50s and won three Ariel Best Actress Awards during her career.

I also saw her video when she was around 80s of her age and all I was thinking about her as a young woman - courageous! Few Mexicans have been outstanding and she definitely is one of them.

"I am a woman with a heart of a man" ~ Maria Felix

It feels great to read about strong women from history because it guides you and helps you to lead your way. I read some of her quotes and I really felt she is one of the stronger and rebellious one.
I loved reading her quotes and here I am sharing a couple...

"Diva is something invented, but I was not fabricated, life made me and made me very well." ~ Maria Felix

"The best way to love someone is to accept them how they are, that is what I do with Antoine, it's not easy, but to only love idiots is easy." ~ Maria Felix

"Since the beginning of time, men have taken the best part of the cake." ~ Maria Felizx

"Don't give me advice, I can make my own mistakes" ~ Maria Felix

 ~ Dawn

The time travels it's own ways and so do we!

Many have traveled across this path,
Many will travel this same path,
There are some paths you cross,
And wish I could cross again,
And again, to rejoice and cherish,
To not lose touch with those times,
And yet, some paths you crossed
Wish you never had, but yet you did,
Each path showed life and its consequences,
Each walk gave its pain and pleasures,
Each pain taught you lessons,
And pleasures that you see still around,
Sometimes you felt you never crossed paths with,
Yet you accept reality that it had to happen,
And had to cross it this way to repent,
Many will travel and many will cherish,
The time travels it's own ways and so do we!

Rain drops telling the story of life!

Drop by drop started falling out,
Each one had a story to unwind,
Each one stronger than before,
Some deeper and some volatile,
Some would evaporate and disappear,
Yet, there were still more drops,
Repeating stories again and again,
Different places with different image,
Enough to quench the thirst and fire,
It tells the paths they have traveled,
Ups and downs sliding high and low,
Still they shine like a pearl in the shell,
Rain drops telling the story of life!

It’s a new day, let’s dance!

Yesterday silence walked in,
And gave room to reading,
One after the other articles,
Got my curiosity in motion,
I searched for more answers,
Thoughts went wild and funk,
At twilight sleep walked in,
Thoughts were still yawning,
Drowning me in and pulling,
Dawn walked out of the darkness,
Bringing rainkissed freshness,
Telling it’s a new day, let’s dance!

In the middle of gloomy day

In the middle of gloomy day
There’s always a ray of hope
No matter how low and cloudy
Put up a stick into it and poke
You will see some light on the way
That too want to come this way
There’s always a struggle to get
And there’s struggle to give too
Yet no effort is less worthy to try
Try hard and you will find your way
Living on the edge and yet enjoy the day
For the fun is on the edge or it’s a boring day!
