Why can’t we go back in past and make it present?

Yesterday was just another day,
Waiting all the time for today,
But then, it reminded me of past,
Which is gone, the future not yet here,
The present which is now,
Why does it have to be like this?
Why there’s always a past, present and future?
Why can’t we go back in past and make it present?
There should be some science behind that,
Why I wondered, and someone said,
It’s the second law of Thermodynamics,
Self-contained can only increase or stay same,
It can never go down,
So, physics says time has preferred direction,
I realize it’s all because of second law of Thermodynamics…!
