Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine

This tag is called the blessing tag. Even though I was not tagged to this one but I liked the thought behind this and hence sharing with all of you who read my blog :) as I want you all to be blessed. Thanks dear Priya for tagging me and blessing me too :)

The idea… it’s a game of tag with a difference, rather than looking inwardly, we look outside ourselves and bless, praise and pray for one blog friend. By participating in this endeavour we not only make the recipient of the blessing feel valued and appreciated, but we are having some fun too. We’re going to see how far the blogging’ blessings can travel around the world and how many people can be blessed! Recipients of a blogging’ blessing may upload the above image to their sidebar if they choose to.

“A true friend is the greatest of all blessings, and that which we take the least care of all to acquire” ~ Francois de la Rochefoucauld

Hence I guess it explains why I have uploaded this picture ;) but I was really tagged on this one below:

There are 10 points, and you are supposed to elaborate on each point. Here goes my interpretation.

1) It is important to be liked by others: I don’t think so!!! as it’s not necessary to be liked by others all the time.

My belief is that one should like themselves first. If you are right and your heart agrees with what you are doing or thinking then rest falls in place. Its like the fragrance which spreads and those who like it will come to you! Doing something on the basis that people should like you; I don’t know how far that goes but not for me!

“A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.” ~Herm Albright

2) Obedience is a virtue:
For me it depends, as where it is coming from. We all have in our culture to respect elders and many times I have seen (not me though as that’s why I am always the black sheep of the family .. lol) people obey as otherwise it will be disrespecting them. For me, ask, find out why’s? and then one can decide whether to be obedient or not!!! As nothing can be fully obedience if its not from your heart.

“True obedience is true freedom.” ~ Henry Ward Beecher

3) People are not malicious but they become so because of bad experiences or circumstances:

I think like all fingers are not same, the same goes for people no matter what gender, country, race or religion. The only one thing matters is how you control your inside evilness over the goodness and that decides the explanation for you to be malicious. Anger is something which can make one do things which even a powerful person will think twice to do as when one is in anger is not thinking from head; he or she is just responding to the trigger that occurred to loose his/her temperament. So the more control we have on ourselves the less animal we become ;)

“The pre-human creature from which man evolved was unlike any other living thing in its malicious viciousness toward its own kind. Humanization was not a leap forward but a groping toward survival.” ~ Eric Hoffer

4) Education broadens our view and makes people more humane:

I disagree with the later part of the statement. Education is good and always brings awareness but its seldom that people take that into consideration for themselves. I have heard people talking nth time about not to discriminate in the name of race, gender or religion but the same person if it comes on him/herself the notion changes all of a sudden. I have heard educated people talking about all religion teaches same values and good faith and good deeds but the moment you speak about Muslims, they will start discriminating with the talks of all the fatwas and terrorism etc.
Also, I would like to bring this here that I have come across people who are not educated but they have their views with real life experience which has taught them some values and I see them more like humane than any other educated class.

“Education: a debt due from present to future generations”. ~ George Peabody

5) People who have no money troubles are happier:

I think the trouble starts when people’s need increases more than what people need at that time :). I remember when I came to Canada and was on my own with my struggling phase I was much happier with making friends and not thinking much but in that time frame itself I bought a house and then you start all the trouble of maintaining it and looking after other aspect of investment and what not??? More trouble and more headache :D!!! But yes, need is need and one can’t deny that as we all tend to strive to be in a better future if not present :D!!! So, no money is not good but enough is better!

“Money never made a man happy yet, nor will it. The more a man has, the more he wants. Instead of filling a vacuum, it makes one.” ~ Benjamin Franklin
6) As people get older they get wiser:

I admire the statement. When I look at my Dad, I still feel I can learn a lot from him and his grandkids could do more even ;) but I think how much we younger generation makes use of it from that will make the real sense. As I have always learnt to take lesson from others experience rather than your own ;) and getting older means becoming wiser and being expert I would say :)

“Follow then the shining ones, the wise, the awakened, the loving, for they know how to work and forbear.” ~ Buddha

7) You can live on love and fresh air:

I think its more or less like a blessing. To live in this practical world just love and fresh air isn’t sufficient :); I guess my friends will agree with me! Besides the basic necessity to live and survive if you have your loved ones who loves you and cares for you; then that’s a true blessing and we all need that if not from anyone at least from God!! It’s a support, faith that keeps you running in thick n thin stages.

“Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver”. ~ Barbara De Angelis

8) There is a celestial guardian angel looking after each one of us:

This is true if you have that faith :), if you are a believer and I am one and I say this with my own experience.

“Every blade of grass has its angel that bends over it and whispers, 'Grow, grow.'” ~ The Talmud saying

9) All living beings reincarnate:

I am sorry but I don’t believe in this. I remember as a kid, when I asked lot of questions to my Library Teacher, he started giving me big –big books on reincarnation and each time I complete the book to return I used to go through a session with him where I am still not convinced and he issues me with another one … lol! I don’t believe unless I see some real proof which I don’t think is possible!

“Reincarnation: People coming back to life at quitting time.”

10) Heaven and Hell are places you go to after death:

I believe heaven or hell, it’s we who make it and so its here right when we are alive. Death is that fear which we all have to face one day or the other and yet we won’t be there to tell about it as what it was to be dead!!! So, I don’t look forward for heaven or hell after my death as for me that’s the dead end.

“I have never seen the slightest scientific proof of the religious theories of heaven and hell, of future life for individuals, or of a personal God” ~ Thomas Alva Edison

It was an interesting journey to start with liking, blessing and then death. Let’s make someone part of this …hmm who could it be… Keshi, Art, Shiva and all others who want to voice their opinion :)

“Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.”

I wanted to watch this movie called ‘Halla Bol’ the meaning literal would be to barge in kind of ;) ! The reason to watch because my friend said he is writing this movie and another reason to watch is for Ajay Devgan the actor, as I find him a versatile actor who has proven himself in all characters whether it’s a action hero, romantic or even a negative role he has excelled well.

"Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving" ~ Albert Einstein

‘Halla Bol’ is kind of street play that one do to take the message to the mass and make bring awareness among the masses about the social aspects or any other matter which will benefit the people. Mostly these are volunteered by non-profit organizations.

“Grab your coat, and get your hat, Leave your worry on the doorstep Just direct your feet, To the sunny side of the street.” ~ Dorothy Fields
The beginning of the movie was kind of okay and I was happy to see my friend playing a small role in it which was a surprise.. lol!
But as the movie progresses, it takes all your attention and I would say worth watching it.
It speaks about telling truth, standing for justice no matter whether its for you or your neighbor and above all the fundamental aspect that people bring in specially the political parties who try to benefit by bringing religion into it …I was totally amazed that they tried to attach multiple aspects and brought justice to though it was tough in the beginning as we all know straight path never takes you to the destination right away but yes, it will some day some time … lol!

“The whole history of the world is summed up in the fact that, when nations are strong, they are not always just, and when they wish to be just, they are no longer strong.” ~ Winston Churchill

At places the heroine Vidya Balan brings the strong stand of herself being in the movie which I liked it very much!
The entire movie is of Ajay Devgan who has done a good job and not to disregard the great actor and father of Shahid Kapoor – Pankaj Kapoor. He is too good.
I didn’t like the character that plays the political leader as Gaikwad – felt he was trying his best to act like Nana Patekar and yet he was not successful in doing so …this is what I felt it could be wrong.

“Life's like a play; it's not the length but the excellence of the acting that matters”

At the end it’s for the people of the country to make the decision and do justice. One should not be mere a spectator of any crime as you also become a part of that sin.

“When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.” ~ Khalil Gibran

“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”

This weekend was full of events, as you can judge from my last post…it was a weekend of birthdays!! Besides my mom there was another angel who turned one year and so one of our friends who’s age… I don’t think we need to know .. lol!!!

Yes and I want to wish my friend Manish ‘Happy Birthday’ and to all others ‘Happy Sankrant’, I know this day is known in different parts of state differently in India.

Please accept my best wishes to all!!!

“May you have love that never ends, lots of money and lots of friends. Health be yours, whatever you do and may God send many blessings to you.”

In all these celebrations I also happened to watch Aamir Khan’s movie ‘Taare Zameen Pe’!!! (Stars on the earth)

Yes as you all know it was a very controversial year that passed for Aamir and then this movie as well but overall I loved the movie…I liked every aspect that Aamir is trying to bring in to the competition world and I would say specially the Indian community who just load their kids with pressure just to maintain their prestige.

When I saw this movie – I found that it touched every age of the audience, every child and every parent was emotional! There was lot of learning and education that was left in the minds of people and I think one should take it with a pinch of salt – a positive outlook!

As philosophical we say theory is possible but not in practical but then if we keep thinking like this and not take that first stab then I don’t think anyone can change this world of cruelty! Yes I will agree with Aamir where he says this is worst than Child Labor!!!!

“Aim for the stars and maybe you'll reach the sky”

I came to work and with my couple of friends we were discussing and according to them they don’t agree what Aamir is trying to portray as they say no one wants their kid to be dumb and want to be the best and should be scoring highest as that’s the trend and that’s what is expected in the society or else you are not well respected! If one gets 94% and another gets 98% then 98 scored person and his/her parents display that with pride.

“To be a star, you must shine your own light, follow your own path, and don't worry about the darkness, for that is when the stars shine brightest”

I am not sure I was ever exposed to such society or may be my parents never put that pressure and they never took us to such a social aspect where really they were breeding horses that can run fast and win every race :)!
But they say that is the world and I can see in US itself some of the Indian community has created this pressure and you will see the schools called Challengers and what not…!!

Come on! What are we giving to our kids….a place where they have to loose their childhood before even they get into it and as they are born parents decide what their kids are going to be and how much they have to score and which school they need to attend??? Boy I would abandon such parents as all I can get from them is pressure and pressure and only scolding or ‘chakde’ to score more :O

“Don't try to fix the students; fix ourselves first. The good teacher makes the poor student good, and the good student superior. When our students fail, we as teachers, too, have failed.” ~ Marva Collins

Some how I still agree with what Aamir has tried send the message across…not stretch the finger so much that it breaks….let your child’s talent come out in such a way that it can become his career and bread earning factor!!!!

“Education is a companion which no future can depress, no crime can destroy, no enemy can alienate it and no nepotism can enslave.” ~ Ropo Oguntimehin

I agree every child is special but also every child has a right to grow happily and peacefully with a bit of patience and lots of love

Taare Zameen Pe – indeed we are stars of our parents and we are on earth let’s give them an opportunity to shine here rather than in the sky!!!

“We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.” ~Stacia Tauscher

“Prayers go up and blessings come down”

“A good memory is one that can remember the day's blessings and forget the day's troubles”

Today is my mom’s birthday and what else could I ask for when I can celebrate it with her :)

It is a surprise moment which I haven’t let it open until evening as it will be a weekend celebration too for all of us ;)

I remember those days when I used to wait until its midnight and used to get into my parents room to wish my mom and it used to be a surprise for her as many times you forget when the date is near or the moment is near by!

I couldn’t do the same this time as we had a chat until 11.55 p.m. and went to bed … lol until morning to wish her

Many Happy Returns Of The Day Mom!!!

My mom thinks one doesn’t celebrate their birthdays if their parents are not alive and I think we kids have all the reason to celebrate it no matter what!

“Birth may be a matter of a moment, but it is a unique one.” ~ Frederick Leboyer

All I have to tell today is a mother is always a mother no matter what she’ll never stop worrying for her kids until either one of them is gone from this world and I guess that is what it makes special to be a Mom

“Motherhood is pricedOf God, at price no man may dareTo lessen or misunderstand.”~Helen Hunt Jackson

I thank God for bringing this moment of celebration especially with my parents on this date! I can do only so much though the love, affection and strength that they have induced in us can never be repaid.

“Sweater, n.: garment worn by child when its mother is feeling chilly.” ~Ambrose Bierce

I only wish, let this day come every year and my parents are besides me to see this celebration moment of ours

Happy Birthday Mom

Dreams get you into the future and add excitement to the present

The New Year for me started with a blast and lot of enthusiasm and fruitful plans.
This wasn’t the case at work. I see lot of people leaving to join somewhere else and when I ask why they all talk about the people, benefit and salary!

I had nothing to complain so far but leaving people isn’t giving a good moral either but I looked at it half filled office rather than otherwise :)

“You can give in to the failure messages and be a bitter deadbeat of excuses. Or you can choose to be happy and positive and excited about life” ~ A.L. Williams

I was busy these days with parents and watching movies :) yes I agree the movies that I am watching could be not the latest but yes they are the greatest :D

The one that I was thrilled about was ‘Borne Ultimatum’ full of action thriller and I like Matt Damon. I was through out enjoying every second of this!

“Get excited and enthusiastic about you own dream. This excitement is like a forest fire - you can smell it, taste it, and see it from a mile away” ~ Denis Waitley
The other one is a suspense thriller :D yes it starts as a kids movie but really how it turned out to be a suspense investigative thriller …I was totally engrossed and scarred too!
I have seen many other horror movies but yes there we know it is horror but this one I was not aware of so you can imagine the chillness through the bones that went across :)The movie is ‘Disturbia’ isn’t it funny! I would say if you like to watch horror movies then try this one out ;)

“Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality.” ~ Adgar Allan Poe

You can see along with my book release preparation lot of movies are being watched I guess it’s a way of keeping the stress at rest ;)

“Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”

“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.” ~Edith Lovejoy Pierce

I am bit late but this is the beginning of the year and I would like to wish all my friends a

Very Happy, Joyful, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year 2008

I also take this opportunity to thank all my friends who already wished me through their greeting cards and special notes for the season.

Let the year be a rocking one ;)

“Every person should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first of January let every person gird themselves once more, with their face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past.”

We are all different. Don’t judge, understand instead!!!

This year, right from its inception, has unfolded with a profound sense of intrigue. My surroundings are bustling with noteworthy events – t...
