London is a roost for every bird.

You Belong in London

A little old fashioned, and a little modern.
A little traditional, and a little bit punk rock.
A unique woman like you needs a city that offers everything.
No wonder you and London will get along so well.

“Faith is love taking the form of aspiration.”

As I had said one of the facts below is watching movies..!!! Today I am going to talk about the movie "Mammo",Mammo is a nickname given to Mehmooda Begum .

I know this is not a new movie...but we as leaving in this part of the world...are not so previleged to get to see all the movies...I am a great fan of Shyam Benegal - a guy who has always made movies...out of some inspiration or some message for people...I dont think he ever made movie to make money...its a different thing people do have to make a living out of it :)

"Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.”

I had heard about this "Mammo" & Shyam Benegal, himself was praising the main character of this movie - Farida Jalal... Since then am in search of it and guess what...yesterday I could get this movie...:D I was so excited...!!!

"Dreams get you into the future and add excitement to the present"

Didnt even know that the lyrics in this movie are by my fav Gulzar & Singer none other than Jagjit Singh :D....wow tears came into my eyes...with happiness :D....you never get everything that you ask...but sometimes when you do...you are speechless!!!

I really loved this movie...I dont want to talk much about the movie...as people know the legend Shyam Benegal - his direction and his movies...is just marvellous!!!

"It's always the challenge of the future, this feeling of excitement, that drives me"

I always have this desire to travel to Pakistan...& meet the people there and know the history ...as I have always heard this...that some didnt want to go to Pak and some didnt want to go to India...but all I see is people who did want to go to both places are suffering...!!!

“Your feet will bring you to where your heart is.”

We in this part of the world..talk big things about our roots...culture and tradition...but imagine a place where your roots lies and still you cannot reach them...either you are deported as a criminal or then you have to do some illegal things to be attached to your roots...!!!

“There are two lasting bequests we can give our children: One is roots, the other is wings.”

All I was thinking...imagine a 75 year old lady had to go through all this...just to be with her own people...I could feel the pain...a pain which is of not her fault....but still she is suffering...!!!
My aspiration of travelling to different parts of the world..is living and burning day by day and Pakistan being one of the place where I would love to go and be among the people ...and write about them..!!!

“An aspiration is a joy for ever, a possession as solid as a landed estate”

When I came to a Urdu Poetry site...I thought I will be making friends from Pakistan and know a lot about the place...but I realize only rich can reach to the internet world but there a lot many who are still unreachable.....and thats why I want to go and meet those people...the rich heritage and culture that they still carry irrespective of the novel ways and jet era...!!!
I have a dream to fulfill...:)

"The most pitiful among men is he who turns his dreams into silver and gold."
~ Khalil Gibran

I thought to share a poem about our dreams.....:)

Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!

Look to this Day!

For it is Life, the very Life of Life.

In its brief course lie all the

Verities and Realities of your Existence.

The Bliss of Growth,

The Glory of Action,

The Splendor of Beauty;

For Yesterday is but a Dream,

And To-morrow is only a Vision;

But To-day well lived makes Every

Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,

And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.

Look well therefore to this Day!

Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!
~ Kalidasa

“No two on earth in all things can agree. All have some daring singularity.”

Have you ever thought...how it is to be a team or even be a team player? We often, talks so many things about this...infact so many seminars and learning sessions takes place..in the corporate world...just to know that...meeting of minds is what one lacks..:)

“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” ~ Henry Ford

It is exactly how one bridges with relationships...similarly in projects..no matter how big team or how much authority one has...it all has to end up at one point...where meeting of minds exists..!!!

“The ultimate test of a relationship is to disagree but hold hands.”

A project can go so smooth if there are people to understand the point of view and the root cause of it...instead of proving who's work is going to be rewarded ....:)

“Wisdom ceases to be wisdom when it becomes too proud to weep, too grave to laugh, and too selfish to seek other than itself.”

One thing is for sure...when things are not taken at a matured level then no one pays attention or else...if one does then it takes to an extreme end of discussion where in becomes an ego matter :)

“One may understand the cosmos, but never the ego; the self is more distant than any star.” ~ G.K.Chesterton

Some how this thought was lingering in my mind since I left my work...and thought this picture is the best to show meeting of minds...even sun and moon can do that in North Pole....then why can't we human :)....is it that difficult ?
A thought to ponder...do share if you have any comments....please ;)

“Art arises when the secret vision of the artist and the manifestation of nature agree to find new shapes.”

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times, in life after life, in age after age forever.

WOW...what a tag and what a timing heheehe :)
Well, this is my first time participating in this tag game..:) ..lets see how it goes..:D!!!I am taking the rules as it is...as rules never change isnt it..? But as they say....even before the laws are created...how to break it..? is something which is created side by side ...;) lol....so I am breaking the rule 3 and hence 4 may not be attempted ;)...aaah killing two birds with one stone ....lol

"Seeing, hearing, feeling, are miracles, and each part and tag of me is a miracle" ~ Walt Whitman

Rules of the tag:
1. The tagged victim has to come up with 8 different points of their perfect lover.
2. Need to mention the sex of the target.
3. Tag 8 victims to join this game & leave a comment on their comments saying they've been tagged.
4. If tagged the 2nd time, there's no need to post again.

My Eight points....that I look for..in a perfect lover - Male ofcourse :D....are...below this quote ;)
“Three quarters of the miseries and misunderstandings in the world would finish if people were to put on the shoes of their adversaries and understood their points of view” ~ MK Gandhi

1. Love:
I think no matter what happens..if there is place for love...you forgive every mistake in the world of that person...its all about 'love' trust me guys...it is!!!! :D
"Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction" ~ Antoine de Saint-Exupery

2. Caring:
For me the person has to be caring..no compromise there :)
“I feel the capacity to care is the thing which gives life its deepest significance.” ~ Pablo Casals

3. Trust /Faith :
For me Trust & Faith are the two major pillars of the relationship....
“Without trust, words become the hollow sound of a wooden gong. With trust, words become life itself.”

4. Understanding :
This is the major bridge which keeps every emotion flow through easily in any relationship (its just my thought...not necessarily everyone should believe it ) ;)
“He who does not understand your silence will probably not understand your words.” ~ Elbert Hubbard

5. Friend:
For me the person doesnt have to be like my dad..:)...there's a saying that every gal would like to get a hubby who is like her dad...but I would deny that...!!! For me he has to be my best friend..with whom I can share everything...and I feel that comfort level in doing so...!!!
“A friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself.” ~ Jim Morrison

6. Fun-loving:
Yes...am crazy and I know that I would never grow old in that matter...so should be who can have lots of fun and is ready for mischiefs hahahha...
"People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing." ~ Dale Carnegie

7. Conversationist:
After all...the person should be able to express his love..for me...his feelings about everything...as I would also love to know what he feels about everything that is surrounding him :)
"If you cannot be a poet, be the poem." ~ David Carradine

8. Should be educated (Life as his teacher) :
Yes..someone who is educated about the real life...and not just the fairy tale stories...:)...understands the depth of life...suffering..and its meaning...and the sacrifices that are made because the person is educated enough to understand...a very important element...and rarly found...:)
Since it is about the lover...about your life...I would like to end this with this note by Mother Teresa...instead of tagging anyone else ...;) hehehe

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

“If I had a song, I'd sing it in the morning, I'd sing it in the evening, All over this land”

Monday evening ....I was at home whole day...watching movie...& evening decided to go out..when some friends invited to there place coz there some school time friends were visiting from Dubai..!!!

“Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans” ~ John Lennon

Thought of quick meeting and returning back as the next day was a working day...:)

“Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.” ~ Oprah Winfrey

But as the conversation went on....the time flew like anything and they said they have booked a restaurant for dinner...and I was trying to escape this offer which didnt materialize...hence I decided to join them for dinner.

“There is only one difference between a long life and a good dinner: that, in the dinner, the sweets come last.” ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

"The Emperor Indian Cuisine" was the place near to them and so...we all jumped into our cars and drove to the place....as we were going through the menu...and orders...there was a very light instrumental music (Sitar & Tabla) and as soon the food came and we all started enjoying the food when a melodious ghazal from the movie 'Sarfarosh'...ofcourse who else was the singer..other than my fav Jagjit Singh....and I heard everyone saying - oh...this is Aamir Khan's movie...and ...

“A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow”

I said...noooo its Jagu's ghazal hahaha...and guys...what to add more..the evening was worth...as somehow...the whole evening they were playing...Jagjit's ghazals...and I felt as if I am blessed :)....

An evening accidentally planned...but spent worthfully..:)

“Into each life some rain must fall.”

This long weekend was so rainy here that some people claimed storm is gonna come :)!!!

I was just out to get some clothes which was given for alteration.....and man...the way it rained heavy ...I have never been in such rains...at least outside :)....!

“Life is like a rainbow. You need both the sun and the rain to make its colors appear.”

I felt like enjoying the moment and so I just took off in my car all over the place where I could go and not forget the way to home :)

And during this rain I had the ghazals from movie Bazaar ...playing ...gosh!!! I was wondering how..beautiful and meaningful the ghazals are....!

I have a very fade memory when I saw this movie...I remember it had tragic end and hence when I got a 2nd chance...I saw it again...and I always felt if...if everything would have taken at the right time...the end would have been different...!!!!

Yes...it always the "Time"...!!!

“Lost time is never found again.”

And this time I had the opportunity to search thru my collections of CD's and Bazaarcame in my hand.

It was an awesome union of rain, music & drive :)

“The three ingredients of a successful union between two . . . humor, commitment & undying love.” ~ Bill Cosby

I often thank those great people who gave us all these...as these are for a lifetime....people come and go...but there work ...deed...talent keep on reminding us of them & their effort...!!!

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. ~ Winston Churchil

Our attitude toward life determines life's attitude towards us.

Your Life Path Number is 8
Your purpose in life is to help others succeed
You are both a natural leader and a natural success. You are also a great judge of character. You have a head for business and finance. You know how to make money.A great visionary, you can see gold where other people see nothing.
In love, you are very generous - with gifts, time, and guidance.
You love to inspire people, but it can be frustrating when they don't understand your vision.Great success comes easily for you. But so does great failure, as you are very reckless. You are confident, and sometimes this confidence borders on arrogance.

Many Happy Returns Of The Day Manish :)

This poetry is for you specially in Hindi :)
Hope you like it as much as I like it :)
With all my best wishes...enjoy reading...;)

If you carry your childhood with you, you never become older

One friend in a lifetime is much, two are many, three are hardly possible. Friendship needs a certain parallelism of life, a community of thought, a rivalry of aim.~ Henry Brooks Adams

Today...am gonna talk about a friend whom I had never met till...yesterday :)!!!
Yes...guys...a friend who had been more close to my parents than me ...a friend who often met my parents...and was a strong mediator between me n my parents when I was away...from them.
So we were net friends....:) yes just like some of you guys :D

“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.” ~ Rabindranath Tagore

But the best part is that...he doesnt like cricket...I do! He has no interest in movies.. n I do. I don't think he either likes to listen to music....as he had switched that off in my car...n you all know my craze with music, poetry n poets :)....such a big contrast

"By contrast, wisdom captivates people's hearts and has the power to open a new age."

But still....our sense of humor is great & match to a great extent :)

“In order to have friendship you must look past the color to the soul, because within the soul lies a rainbow of many colors.”

When I met him yesterday.. for the first time ...I never felt that I am meeting him for the first time...it was as if I have known and met him for years..n years.....and our conversation just started ..from there.
I had specially cooked food for him as I have heard so much about his cooking from my mom...that I had to reciprocate hehehe...:)
He was on official visit hence we couldnt get much time being a weekday...but I really felt good to see him as we had lot of fun pulling eachother's leg...even though it was for a short time :)
I remember how I was showing him my fist as if to give him a punch on his face....:) the first time even he got scarred I guess hahahaha....it was a nice evening....we got time together while I was dropping him back to his hotel room.
Friends dont have to have the normal norms...of meeting...greeting...always...its just that faith & trust of you being in there heart and they being in yours...what else is friendship that you help eachother when one needs the most...:)
I had a great evening yesterday!

“It takes a long time to grow young.”

Today is my mom's b'day...:) yeah first thing I did was to call her early morning of hers...and the previous night of mine...:) !!!

“YOUR Birthday IS A SPECIAL Time TO CELEBRATE THE Gift OF 'YOU' TO THE World”

I was remembering...how my mom's bday used to be celebrated...as time passed...I travelled so far that I often send her b'day cards and timely call to wish her.
My mom is a woman of principle...with great will power, determination, patience and foccused.
Her patience goes off when its me ...lol...as I remember she was so strict that I often remember getting scolding from my mom...for small things...which I feel so now :)

"God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers."

But only, one thing I find it amazing is that...though she was strict ...she really became a friend when it was time to be one for me :)....and I think that transition and transformation that too very timely is..a real tact and talent.
Oh btw my mom was genius in Maths...and guess what...hehehe not me...;). I scored well but never wanted to be entangled between numbers and equations..:)

"The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness." ~ Honore de Balzac
On her b'day I want to put this picture which I took...ofcourse at disney ;)....!!Day time this tree seemed to be any simple tree...but by the time we were planning to return ...I saw this...and just fell in love with it...the way they decorated and making sure of the fruits on the tree. The fountain was one of the wonderful thing....a freshness to add to the celebrating moment.

"Before a day was over,
Home comes the rover,
For mother's kiss—sweeter this
Than any other thing!"

“Every human being is the author of his own health or disease.”

Today, I really felt like thanking my those friends...who respect me and love me.
I had read a story in which this proverb was used...'You don't value sweetness until you taste the sourness'...so true..sometimes we just ignore many things in life ..just becoz we take things forgranted..so!!!
I have so many good friends across the world...when I have told them that I dont like smoking...they have really taken it to there heart and made sure that they quit..:)

“Without trust, words become the hollow sound of a wooden gong. With trust, words become life itself.”

Actually, why should they do? Its me who dont like...but that shouldnt be the convincing factor for those who smoke..or drink...as they might also have possible good reason to say why they do that...isnt it?

“Wise men put their trust in ideas and not in circumstances”

Somehow as a child, I have seen those ads everywhere dont smoke...its dangerous and with those skull and all those scarry pictures and stories...have always made me scarred and worried.

“You may be deceived if you trust too much, but you will live in torment if you do not trust enough”

Whenever I see anyone smoking...I feel sad and pity...that how uneducated they are...believe me this am talking about our educated class....as in villages if people do smoke...there are some or the other govt. propositions and campaigns which will try to teach them and educate them. But what about people who are educated and well aware of it..:)

“Let this be my last word, that I trust in your love.”

But my discussion here is not on cigerrette or smoking...my discussion here was to basically thank my those friends..who have always respected my thought and have totally eradicated this habbit...I think thats a big time for me to say....

"Thank You - I love you all"

This pic (Cherry blossoms in Japan..), was sent to me by one of my colleague/guide/father-figure...:)...a very nice man.

“Faith is love taking the form of aspiration.”

Today I feel great that am going to discuss about my favs..i.e. about poetry, music and Gulzar :) !

Poetry: the best words in the best order

Yes, I was so surprised to see this CD called ‘Heer – by Abida & presentation by Gulzar’ – Thank You Friend for bringing this from the library as….usually its those historic & amazing movies which has made me eager to quench my thirst of curiosity and anxiousness about everything that did happen in history.

“It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education.” ~ Albert Einstein

I never knew that I could get these cd’s as well that too ghazals, sufi kalam wow….am a great fan of Abida Parveen….her voice has that intenseness which takes one to the depth of it and leaves them there lost…that’s exactly how I feel…and I often listen to her & that’s the reason her melodious voice is there in my Radio Blog. Try it out and am sure you wont regret it :). She is considered as the queen of Sufi mystical singing, but she is best with sufiana kalaam, be it in hindi, urdu, Punjabi, sindhi or saraiki.

“Music is the harmonious voice of creation; an echo of the invisible world.” ~ Giuseppe Mazzini

The songs in this Heer - album are written by Waris Shah – a great poet who is believed to be inspired by the pain of his own unfulfilled love.
I always felt sad about this aspect…that only a person can bring out the true essence by suffering? Why?....why can’t a person be as good as being in love & bringing those emotions of being in love, whether parting with love & then getting re-united….all these can bring the essence but still the one who suffers only know the true pain of it …I guess :), that’s the irony part of it….which often made me to think about all those great talented & expressive people.

“Suffering is the true cement of love” ~ Paul Sabatier

This album also describes the romance tragedy of Heer – Ranjha (the famous lovers known for there love & sacrifice from Punjab). It also depicts the true culture of Punjab and the fragrance of its authenticity.

“You must submit to supreme suffering in order to discover the completion of joy” ~ John Calvin

Gulzar…the word itself says …. That’s how his voice is…one can feel the purity, clarity & the depth. I just love his voice….his writing…his poetry…his direction hehe yeah you can say am madly in love with…;)

"Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash". ~Leonard Cohen

A man who has written in Hindi, Urdu & Bengali – though not being his primary language still…that is something one call it getting inspired…

“Words are the voice of the heart”

Bengali culture has always inspired me a lot…and to a lot extent the credit goes to Rabindranath Tagore…

“No culture can live, if it attempts to be exclusive.” ~ MK Gandhi

......who has often tried to bring the essence of the Bengali culture in his writings and the movies that have been made on those stories written by him.

“Culture is the widening of the mind and of the spirit.” ~ Jawaharlal Nehru

All I want to say is …its an amazing journey that I went through and felt like sharing it…the words are not yet over….the thoughts are just plundering and my hands want to keep on typing….I just get crazy about all this…I wish…one day I can only do these things in life and not bother about any thing else :) is that a dream plan…hehe should be isn’t it..? We all have dreams and we all try to aspire those …and I guess that’s what makes life keep on going…to reach to a goal…a goal created by ourselves ….:)

“An aspiration is a joy for ever, a possession as solid as a landed estate” ~ Robert Louis

I love this day…:) and loved to share it here :)

“New Year's Day is every man's birthday.”

“Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”

Yes...guys its new year and am a bit late..:) ...reason...I was away from town ;)
Yes...I went to LA and on the new year's eve I was in Disneyland.
It came as a surprise....when I left for LA...it was a long drive...but music made the journey...pleasant :)

“Without music, life would be an error.”

Disneyland is something where everyone can enjoy...adults or kids...everyone has that smile of enjoyment.
I had a full day enjoyment and was ready for the next day....till 2:00 pm I had to leave Disney coz it was raining...and most of the fun filled rides were stopped...but it was worth being there :)

“Drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past. Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go.”

I should be writing another post on my trip to LA & Disneyland...;) as I feel there is so much to add..:D
But as the year was ending...on the eve...God gave everything along with my fav. rain :)....I enjoyed by watching a horror movie...SAW II & prior to that I saw Mr & Mrs Smith.

I really had my own time of enjoyment...where I got so many New Year wishes...:) and yes Manish...it was you...believe me you didnt disturb me at all :D....!!!!
So...let the year begin with happiness and towards a new era to begin...:)
