“Some times, another's ego can corrupt a true friendship.”

After such a nice topic on music tag-game, I feel sorry to start a topic on ‘Ego’!
Yes, this is such a small three letter word but could cause disaster in one’s life!

I personally, never met anyone who has an ego…and I never got caught with this disease…probably
Cause as a kid I heard my granny telling me that – ‘there is nothing bigger meditation than forgiving someone

“Give up all bad qualities in you, banish the ego and develop the spirit of surrender. You will then experience Bliss.”

I always feel an ego is something which not only destroys a person’s image but his/her relationship with family, colleagues, friends and overall with every human existence …probably with animals too if you have pets …lol!

“One may understand the cosmos, but never the ego; the self is more distant than any star.”
I just felt someone I met who is so egoist that everything that person takes it personal and has no chance of taking it in a sportive way…!

“Let's face it; God has a big ego problem. Why do we always have to worship him?”

Don’t know friends what you have to say...? Have you met someone with ego (instead of metlife…lol for those who don’t know its an ad for Insurance and quite emotional and touchy ads they give with Indian culture and traditions ;)

Okay so question for you guys…have you ever met someone with ego? If yes, how do you handle with them?

I think a person with ego spreads lot of negativity!

“ Ego is the biggest enemy of humans. ” ~ Rig Veda

Wonderful!!!! rather excillent!!!!

I too don't have ego..but i've met ample amount of people who are loaded with ego..and the best way to deal with them is not to let your ego hurt..i mean sometimes ego is an neccessary thing but in such cases just let the person be the King coz there's no harm in surrender.

The quotes you've used are simply best so here i would like to share a quote by Bertrand Russell:
"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts".

So the best option is to let the other person be the King. And just enjoy the moments[with that person]...:)

hi dawn, wise question indeed! I have met many persons with ego..I respect their ego by ignoring them!! those people help us to learn how we should not behave.let alone the real life, they exist in blog world too!!! but there are wonderful people like you..I like this line of yours..
//I want to live from the inside out, not from the outside in. //

Dawn:

A good piece of info' in your own style. EGO is a glass which you can break or keep it as it is. I have my close and best friend who is very egoistic. Well she has an attitude of all I know and we don't bother at all. Finally she comes down after flying high a little while.

Sadly, I have met a few people with big time ego! I found out that the best way to deal with them is to just stay as far as away from them. Cuz by being close to them, not only do you make their ego worse but also have a chance of catching it. Next thing you know, you become like them!

yes I have met myself and alot of others. We all have an ego. But an ego that overflows is not a good sign. I knew this lady who became of a friend of mine thru a prayer centre. Later she used to pass very egoistic comments at me. I really couldnt u'stand why she wud do that to me cos I was always very nice to her. Later I realised it's her fat ego that thinks only she is right. So I just left that paryer centre after something really hurtful happened.
